Alla Prima - The application of paint to a surface with little or no under painting.

Color Analysis - Using color theory and the color wheel to customize the choices in palette selection for your room or decorating project.

Custom Artwork - Canvas paintings and artwork can be purchased or commissioned from Alla Prima Painting. Works are primarily pieces done in oils, but acrylics, or pastels and charcoals are alternatives.

Faux Finish - A play with paint to imitate the rare, hard to find, heavy and costly materials. Faux Finishes can be painted to represent marble, wood, stone, brick, and leather.

Frottage - A faux finish that gives a plaster or leather-like finish in which paint is applied and then removed with either plastic or tissue paper.

Gilding - The craft of applying a thin layer of metal to a surface.

Murals - From client chosen paintings to traditional landscape designs, murals add value to any home's interior.

Stenciling - The use of pre-cut or custom patterns to produce a frieze, or theme design to create a custom decor.

Textured Finish - Application of paint to surface with tools that give the finished wall a texture specific to the tools used.  Includes rag rolling, sponging, dragging, washes, stippling, and more.

Trompe l'oeil - A French phrase meaning "fool the eye." This painting technique is used to render three-dimensional architectural elements like moldings, columns, and ornaments.

Wall Glazing - Controlled transparent film of color superimposed on an opaque color. The effect can be subtle or dramatic, totally changing the atmosphere of a room.
